How Does Solar Hot Water Work?

There are two types of collectors used in a solar hot water service - flat plate collectors or evacuated tubes. Evacuated tubes consist of a glass tube with a vacuum inside and copper pipes running through the centre. A slow flow circulation pump pumps water to a storage tank below, which heats the hot water during the day.
