a Fresh Heating and Cooling installation

For the first few hours of a gas log fires operation you may notice a smell; this is just the heat proof paint curing and is normal and will settle down after a couple of hours. It is best to let the gas fire run continuously for approx. 3 hours with a few windows open if it is causing a problem.

Depending on the fire you have chosen, they vary greatly in their operation. Please take the time to familiarise yourself with the instruction manual to understand how your gas log fire works and to achieve the best look and comfort from it.

Most of the fans are activated by a “thermodisc” which is a device that requires heat to activate. This is to prevent cold air from getting blown straight into the room. It can take up to 45 minutes on some gas log fires for this to activate.

Most manufacturers recommend that your heater be serviced annually to keep them running safely and efficiently. The best time of year to get your gas log fire serviced is early Autumn to avoid the winter rush.
